How to get to Strasbourg and the Expo-Congrès Centre

By Air: 3 Airports

Strasbourg International Airport is situated 15 km (10 miles) from the Congrès Centre, with direct access by the A35 motorway. There are regular and charter flights to most airports in France and Europe. For more information please visit

L’Euro Airport de Bâle-Mulhouse is situated 100 km (66 miles) from the Congrès Centre. There are charter flights to and from most airports in Europe. From here you would need to take the Airport-congress centre shuttle to the Convention Centre: tel 03 89 90 25 11.

Frankfurt Airport is situated 200 km (132 miles) from the Congrès Centre. There are regular and charter flights to and from most airports in Europe and Worldwide. From here you would need to take the Airport-congress Centre Shuttle to the Convention Centre (6 per day from Monday to Sunday).

By Train:

The Train Station is situated only 5 minutes from the Congrès Centre. There are direct links with Paris (3hrs 50min), Lyon (4hrs 30min), Brussels (5hrs 20min), Frankfurt (2hrs 30min), Basel (1hr 30min), Zurich (3 hrs)

By Motorway:

Motorway access is situated only 200 meters from the Congrès Centre.

Public transport in town

Shuttle Bus Strasbourg Airport + Tram

Journey time: 15 minutes.

All year around, a shuttle connects Strasbourg International Airport to tram station Baggersee. There is a shuttle every 15 minutes from Monday to Friday, Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon and evening. There is a shuttle every 30 minutes Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Taxis

Taxis are available at the airport until the last flight lands. The fare between the airport and the city centre is around €25 during the day and €40 at night and on Sundays and public holidays.

Trams & Buses

Strasbourg's public transportation system now has 4 tramway lines which serve the city. The tram runs daily from 04.30am to 00.30am every 4 to 6 minutes. All the tram stations have automatic coin and card operated ticket dispensers and information posts with everything you need to know about the network, including time-tables, etc.

The same ticket, costing the same price (€1.20), can be used in buses and trams. Tickets are valid for one hour for a single bus or tram journey, including a change. The last stage after a change must begin within an hour of punching the ticket. For a return journey, a second ticket is needed.

The cut off date for accommodation is September 5, 2005, availability cannot be guaranteed after this date. Hotel accommodation can only be reserved if you provide credit card details. Please note that you will be expected to settle your accommodation charges directly with the hotel when you depart. If you do not arrive at your hotel on the due date, the hotel will cancel your reservation for the subsequent nights and charge your credit card for all of the nights booked.

Accommodation has been reserved at special group rates, however delegates are welcome to book their hotel direct, as good discounts can sometimes be found on the internet.

Alternative Accommodation

There are many other cheaper hotels available in the city center which is only a 10 minute tram ride away.
